Toolquip & Allied is focussed primarily on skills development, and to this end sponsors a training facility, IFT Academy, situated on its premises in Johannesburg. The academy trains a range of artisans including fitters, turners, plate makers, welders and electricians for the benefit of the industry at large. To date 107 artisans have been successfully trained and groomed for employment. TQA is a Level 4 B-BBEE contributor.

TecsaReco has identified a significant skills gap in the appliance repair, commercial refrigeration and air-conditioning sectors and has recently employed a dedicated trainer and is developing a training academy at its Tulisa Park campus.
