INVESTING-IN-PEOPLE

It is integral to our business philosophy to develop our people’s skills through career advancement opportunities, ongoing training and development and onsite mentorship.

Our culture is built foremost on entrepreneurialism which empowers employees to innovate, and strive to continually improve. We are results-focused, accountable and performance driven. We strive to keep it simple and learn continually. We are passionate about our business and what we do. Key is our informal, non-hierarchical approach in which we work hard, play hard and engage in robust debate. We act always with integrity, honesty and respect. In order to deliver results we also act with urgency, celebrate our successes and learn from our failures. It goes without saying that all our employees are treated equally and with respect.

Toolquip & Allied’s participation in the TDM Powered Apprenticeship Programme is an example of our investment in people for personal growth and strengthened group competitiveness, with specific focus on the South African tool manufacture industry. The Programme is driven by a consortium of community champions, manufacturing industry leaders and both local and international training partners, and is financed by grant funding from the Department of Labour.

The intention of the training is twofold: immediate job creation and long-term career advancement. Our graduates can work in the industry as machine attendants, line inspectors or product packers, as well as gain credits for further apprenticeship training down the line once employed.
